Open the door you wish to adjust and locate the screw as shown in the photo. (Click or tap for a larger view) Note: For right-hand doors, screw will be located on the upper side of the base plate as shown. For left-hand doors, the screw will be located on the lower side of the base plate.
Grab your screwdriver, and loosen screw 1/2 to 3/4 of a turn. The goal is to loosen the screw, not remove it.
With the door well supported (use assistance if need be), do the same for the second hinge on the door.
Now raise the door (a 1/16″ to 1/8″ depending upon amount of gap) and re-tighten one of the screws.
Close the door, and check the evenness of the gap between the top and bottom. If necessary, open the door and adjust further. Close the door and re-check. Once you are satisfied with the gaps, re-tighten screws on both hinges. You are done!
March 30 Update:
Crown Point Cabinetry has been deemed an essential business by the Governor of New Hampshire. As such, we are in business, crafting cabinetry and taking on new orders. While we continue to operate, we are taking all necessary precautions to keep our entire team safe. In order to limit face-to-face interactions, our showroom is not open to visitors until May 4th, 2020. In the meantime, see our virtual shop tour here.
If you have a project you would like to discuss, please give us a call. We are here to help!
